Sony Pictures CEO Tom Rothman confirms the reboot of the "Spider-Man" universe, to be developed by a brand-new team.

Tech Home, February 25 — In the latest YouTube program “The Town with Matt Belloni,” Sony Pictures CEO Tom Rothman confirmed that due to the failure of “Craven the Hunter,” they plan to reboot the Spider-Man universe.

Tom Rothman emphasized that this reboot is a brand-new restart, created by a completely new team, which means the new series will feature fresh casting.

Note from Tech Home: Currently, the Spider-Man universe includes “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” “Venom 2,” “Morbius,” “Madame Web,” “Venom: The Last Dance,” and “Craven the Hunter.”

So far, Sony’s Spider-Man universe has only the “Venom” series consistently producing a trilogy, while other works have received poor responses. Besides the first “Venom” film, which scored 7.2, the other two films scored below 7.
