TechCrunch: On March 9, Beijing time, according to the tech website 9to5mac, Apple will celebrate its 50th anniversary this April 1st. Apple CEO Tim Cook said in an interview that the founder Steve Jobs’ philosophy is the company’s DNA for 50 or even 200 years, and that the company is unique and cannot be copied.

Cook stated that as a company, Apple has had to “develop a new capability” to mark this milestone, because Apple is more focused on “the next innovation and improving existing products.” “It’s about trying to anticipate future trends and bringing people things they didn’t even realize they would need. So, it really feels different,” Cook said.

One key part is remembering Steve Jobs, who passed away in 2011. Cook said that the ideas Jobs established “are still applicable today,” such as focusing on enriching people’s lives and continuously innovating. He also mentioned that Jobs left him with the advice: “Don’t let the company stagnate by obsessing over what Steve would do if he were still here,” to avoid repeating Disney’s mistake (when Walt Disney passed away, the company faced difficulties). Cook said this advice “is a precious gift to me.”

Cook emphasized, “Steve’s philosophy is still part of our DNA 50 years after Apple was founded, and I hope it remains so for 100 or even 200 years because they are truly outstanding.”

Talking about Apple in 2026, Cook said the company is “truly unique.” “I believe Apple is such a distinctive entity that it cannot be replicated. That’s my genuine feeling. I know many different companies, but Apple is just unique,” Cook said. (Author: Xiao Yu)
