During the 2026 Mobile World Congress, Liu Guiqing, General Manager of China Telecom, stated that China Telecom and China Unicom have shared more than 1.54 million 5G base stations and over 2 million 4G base stations, saving a total of $56.5 billion in investment and $6.5 billion annually in operating costs. Liu Guiqing emphasized that the innovation of 6G standards and network deployment must fully consider the rapid development of artificial intelligence. The formulation of 6G standards needs to proactively adapt to the fast iteration of AI development, achieving deep integration of network connectivity and intelligent engines. Additionally, computing and electricity collaboration capabilities will become key to the sustainable development of intelligent computing infrastructure. Global operators must jointly address the challenges of energy supply, coordinate and dispatch computing resources, and deepen the integration of computing and electricity, leveraging electricity to enhance computing power.
