On Wednesday, February 25, Indonesia urged the European Union to immediately comply with the WTO Expert Panel’s ruling last year regarding the palm oil dispute, in order to restore market access for Indonesian palm oil products. Trade Minister Budi Santoso stated that Tuesday, February 24, was the deadline for the EU to comply within the 12-month implementation period (RPT) granted after the panel’s ruling, which aims to give the EU time to adjust its policies and regulations to align with WTO rules. “We urge the EU to comply immediately with the WTO Expert Panel’s ruling so that market access for Indonesian palm oil products to the EU can be quickly restored,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
