Sui Mainnet Upgrade to V1.63.3: Transaction Confirmation Optimization, Consensus Fixes, and RPC Security Enhancements

Abstract generation in progress

【Crypto World】Sui Network mainnet welcomes a new round of upgrades, with the version number jumping to V1.63.3, and the protocol layer also upgraded to version 107. This update has many highlights. First, optimizations were made to transaction confirmation, making the path to final confirmation smoother. Second, a tricky issue was fixed—discrepancies in consensus among validation nodes caused by rejected transactions should now be resolved through consensus. Another important change is the restriction on the RPC interface, prohibiting validation nodes from using it for transaction signing and submitting aggregated signatures to validation nodes. This step is to enhance network security.

Another version upgrade, sounds impressive, but how many actually affect my wallet? Faster transaction confirmations, I need to look at TPS data to judge. Fixing consensus inconsistency? From the supply and demand curve, this precisely indicates that the previous bug has been eating my gas fees all along. It's too late to fix it now. RPC limits transaction signatures... In simple terms, it's about blocking security vulnerabilities. Has the spirit of Web3 decentralization also been restricted? Wait, why does a security fix version jump so much? This move perfectly embodies the bear market philosophy—fixing a bunch of invisible issues, yet deceiving the market.

Another wave of upgrades is coming, but this time it seems to be addressing some fundamental issues.

It looks like this Sui upgrade is aimed at fixing vulnerabilities. Is the consensus issue finally resolved? The RPC restriction move is quite interesting; we really need to be cautious about that.

looking at the rpc restrictions they're adding... transaction pattern suggests they found some suspicious activity happening through those endpoints. honestly this smells like they're closing a vulnerability after the fact rather than catching it proactively. historical data on other chains shows this exact move usually follows quiet incidents, ngl
