In response to these phenomena, community voices believe that 2026 should be a key year to "turn the tide," prioritizing decentralization, privacy protection, and user self-sovereignty.

Specifically, there is an urgent need to upgrade and optimize the private payment layer to truly safeguard user transaction privacy; at the same time, the usability and accessibility of node operation should be improved to lower the barriers for ordinary users to participate in network validation. These measures are not only about improving Ethereum's technical architecture but also about the true implementation of the Web3 philosophy—only through these efforts can the Ethereum ecosystem evolve toward greater decentralization and openness.

That's right, there are indeed more and more RPC services now, and we're getting further away from true decentralization. We need to find a way to handle node costs, or else we'll have to rely on big corporations, and that's the end of it. Privacy is really urgent; every transaction is exposed. Why bother with Web3 if that's the case? Let's keep going until 2026. If we still can't get it done by then, there's really no hope.

Basically, Ethereum is on a downward trend now, and RPC centralization is becoming more and more outrageous. Just shouting about decentralization is useless; where are the solutions that can truly lower the node entry barrier? Can it be reversed by 2026? I doubt it. Privacy protection really needs to be prioritized; otherwise, it's no different from centralization. With such high node costs, ordinary people simply can't afford to run them. How can it truly be decentralized? The data issues of DApps should have been addressed long ago. Talking about it on paper is no use anymore. Imagine a day when running a node is as simple as using a bank card—that would be progress. Instead of waiting for 2026, it's better to have practical solutions now. No matter how many slogans are shouted, it won't help.
