Ethereum Foundation Co-Executive Director: The Future of Ethereum Depends on Zero-Knowledge Proofs

Summarizing: Zero-knowledge cryptography will become a core component of Ethereum, with breakthroughs already achieved in the mid-term roadmap. Although current efforts mainly focus on improvements to Layer 2 networks, zero-knowledge proofs will promote network scalability and security.

Odaily Planet Daily News: Ethereum Foundation Co-Executive Director Hsiao-Wei Wang stated in an interview with CoinDesk that Ethereum is steadily moving towards making zero-knowledge cryptography a core part of the network's future. Hsiao-Wei Wang describes zero-knowledge as part of Ethereum's mid-term roadmap and notes that several breakthroughs have been made over the past one or two years. While the current upgrade focus remains on enhancing Layer 2 network execution and Blob space, zero-knowledge as a protocol-level feature is becoming increasingly feasible.

Ethereum researchers have released the native zkEVM plan, allowing the network to default to using zero-knowledge proofs for transaction verification. This technology can significantly reduce the workload required to protect Ethereum, enabling scalability without sacrificing decentralization or reliability.

Hsiao-Wei Wang emphasized that even as the network continues to evolve, resilience, security, censorship resistance, and neutrality remain at the core of Ethereum. #非农就业数据
