Don't remind me again today

Korea's leading exchange Upbit has encountered issues.

At around 12:30 PM today, the official confirmation stated: they experienced an abnormal outflow of assets on the Solana chain, involving an amount as high as 54 billion KRW, equivalent to about 38.57 million USD. The incident traces back to 4:42 AM on November 27.

Where did this money go? Currently, the platform has not disclosed technical details, only stating the words "abnormal outflow". Logically speculating, it could either be a private key leak or a compromise of the hot wallet—anyway, the money has indeed disappeared.

Upbit's response was very straightforward: they immediately cut off the withdrawal channel. Now all users' coins cannot be withdrawn, and it's uncertain when it will be restored.

This wave of operations has added another disgraceful record to the Solana ecosystem. Tens of millions of dollars disappeared just like that, and the security issues of centralized exchanges have once again come to the forefront.

Another Centralized Exchange has messed up, it's really ridiculous. When can we fully embrace on-chain?

Another centralized exchange has crashed. Isn't it better to just self-custody?

Is this another trap? Did 38 million USD just evaporate like that? The security of the exchange really needs to be properly addressed.
