Zodia Custody and SBI terminate their joint venture in Japan.
According to HashChain News, Zodia Custody has announced the termination of its joint venture with SBI Holdings Inc. This digital asset custody company made this decision after two years of reconsideration. Julian Sawyer, CEO of Zodia Custody, stated that this is a mutual strategic consensus, with both parties having other priorities. SBI Zodia Custody was originally held 51% by Tokyo Financial Company and 49% by Zodia Custody. Although discussions regarding local registration with the Japanese Financial Services Agency had been ongoing, there has been no progress. SBI spokesperson Kosuke Kitamura stated that this dissolution does not signify a retreat in custodial business or Asian strategy, but rather a proactive decision aimed at achieving group internal synergies more quickly.
