Russia has taken new steps. The deputies of the State Duma have submitted a draft law on fines for illegal mining, and this time the penalties for "black mining" have been significantly increased.
Specifically, fines for individuals range from 100,000 to 150,000 rubles, public officials face fines of 300,000 to 800,000 rubles, and corporate legal entities are fined between 1,000,000 and 2,000,000 rubles. If the same illegal activity is repeatedly caught, the fine standards will continue to increase.
In fact, the Russian Ministry of Justice had previously considered more severe measures, proposing fines of up to 1,500,000 rubles for illegal mining. Although this new draft is not as extreme, the trend indicates that global regulatory agencies are indeed tightening their stance on cryptocurrency mining. For friends involved in mining businesses, compliance issues now need to be given more attention.
