Just read that the richest athletes in the world have accumulated some incredible fortunes. Michael Jordan leads with 3.6 billion — the guy still earns a lot through Nike and other deals. Next are Vince McMahon and Ion Tiriac, both over 2 billion.
What surprised me: Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are quite wealthy with 1.2 and 850 million, but not at the very top of the list. LeBron James, Magic Johnson, and The Rock are all around 800 million. Tiger Woods and Roger Federer also have a substantial amount.
What I find most interesting is that many of the world's richest athletes earn their money not only through sports but also through business ventures and investments. George Foreman, George Foreman Grill, do you know it? Exactly. The list simply shows that top athletes have long become business-minded. Source: Celebrity Net Worth
