Techub News reports that information disclosed by the UK Electoral Commission shows that Thai investor Christopher Harborne donated several million pounds to the Reform UK party. It is estimated that Harborne holds about 12% of Tether. According to The Guardian, these donations include £9 million disclosed last year and an additional £3 million in November, which was recently revealed in regulatory documents.

Led by Nigel Farage, the Reform Party has positioned digital assets as a core part of its economic platform. The party promises to make the UK a “top hub” for digital assets, including proposing to reduce the capital gains tax on cryptocurrencies from the current approximately 18% to 10%. The party has also begun incorporating cryptocurrencies into its political fundraising activities. Reform UK became the first party in the UK to accept digital asset donations and will allow supporters to donate with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin starting in 2025.
